Classes
Want to learn how to make a knife like I do?Come take a class!
I teach classes as there is interest, so get in touch with me and we can figure out dates and details.
Here's an overview of my average class:
Day one of two: students start with a chunk of leaf spring steel and using a charcoal powered forge, they hammer a blade to shape and end the day learning to heat treat their new blade.
Day two: students grind and polish their blades before adding wooden handles. Lots of sanding later, they sharpen and oil their new knives before heading home to ice their tired hands. Some folks come back for a third day to build leather sheaths for their newly minted knives.
